Satmap is currently recruiting for a European Marketing Assistant. This role will report to the European Marketing Manager and is based in Leatherhead, Surrey.
Satmap Systems was founded in October 2005 and has won a number of awards for the Active 10 Sports GPS. Satmap is now expanding into Europe and the successful
candidate will provide support for sales and marketing activities in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Spain and Norway.
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and copywriting skills, combined with experience of graphic design and website content management. He or she
will possess a degree in business or marketing, and/or will have spent some time working as part of a marketing or business development team. We are seeking to
attract an individual with some international exposure, ideally coupled with a background in outdoor/technically oriented products.
Key areas of responsibility:
In addition to providing general administrative support to the European Marketing manager, the Marketing Assistant will be involved in aspects such as
organisation and planning, advertising, promotions, events, and product development. Tasks include:
- Copywriting: support the marketing team through the creation of fresh, innovative and consistently accurate text for all aspects
of printed and online marketing.
- Translation co-ordination: liaise with copywriters and translators to ensure that translation of marketing materials is carried
out on time and to the highest standards.
- Website support: work with the web team to keep website up-to-date and dynamic.
- Graphic design support: support the graphic design team with basic graphics creation and amendments to existing marketing materials. Also, liaising
with designers and printers to manage the production of marketing materials including packaging, leaflets, POS, event stands and promotional merchandise.
- Website support: work with the web team to keep website up-to-date and dynamic.
- Events support: help prepare for European events and exhibitions, attending events as required.
- Product launch support: Co-ordinate product launches, provide support for creation of packaging,
user guides and product descriptions.
- Partner marketing support: liaise with distributors and retailers to support their marketing activities.
- Fulfilment: support and co-ordinate the preparation and shipping of marketing materials as required.
- Support the marketing team: on a range of regular and ad hoc marketing activities including; monitoring the market, marketing stock
management, maintaining and updating mailing databases.
To succeed in this position, you will need to possess some, or all, of the following:
- A degree in business or marketing, and/or some experience of working as part of a marketing or business development team
- MS office skills at intermediate level
- Hands-on experience of graphic design and website content management (Adobe, Photoshop,
InDesign and/or Illustrator)
- An interest in GPS technology and outdoor sports
- Attention to detail and creative flair
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- A good understanding of marketing and a strong interest in e-commerce
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
- Language skills are an advantage (German, Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian and Spanish in particular)

Satmap is currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant. This position will suit someone for whom attention to detail and accuracy is key. Satmap is looking for someone with good communication and IT skills. This role will be based in Leatherhead, Surrey.
Key Tasks will include:
- Purchase Ledger:
- Ensure VAT is claimed correctly
- Reconcile Supplier balances on QuickBooks to Supplier Statements, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers in a prompt and professional manner
- Credit Cards & Expenses:
- Credit Card Reconciliations
- Check expense claims to receipts submitted
- Ensure correct amount of VAT has been claimed
- Analyse expenses to the correct P&L accounts
- Post expenses onto QuickBooks
- Bank
- Posting of Cashbooks and bank reconciliations
- Sales Ledger Tasks
- Reconcile credit card payments to daily sales batches
- Review and monitor authorisation of discounts and replacement items
- Check correct rate of VAT has been charged on sales orders
- Liaise with Sales Order Processor regarding any queries/errors
- Post sales receipts to the relevant sales invoices on QuickBooks
- Work with SOP to reconcile
The successful candidate will have experience of some, or all, of the following:
- Experienced bookkeeper (2 years)
- IT literate (Excel important)
- Experience of Quickbooks an advantage but training will be given
The ideal candidate will be an AAT studier or qualified by experience with a minimum of 2 years accounts experience up to Trial Balance
