This map card includes the German states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the "state of a thousand lakes", is a federal state in northern Germany. The state's Baltic Sea coast features several islands, most notably Germany's two biggest islands Rügen and Usedom. The 3 national parks as well as the Mecklenburg Lake District are characterised by pristine nature. The southern part of the state is marked by a multitude of lakes, the largest of which is Lake Müritz. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy an idyllic setting. The European long-distance path No.9, for instance, takes you on a 400km tour along the Baltic coast and cyclists pedal to the rhythm of the sea waves. Schleswig-Holstein is the northern-most state and is marked by bays, fjords and cliff lines. The Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park is the largest national park in Central Europe. The state boasts of the largest mudflat landscape worldwide occupying 450km along the North Sea coast where you can enjoy a multiplicity of outdoor activities. This map card covers the whole of these two states on one SD card in scales of 1:25,000 and 1:50,000.
